We are happy to announce the Echo Buttons US Game Skills Contest, our newest Amazon Alexa Gaming challenge for developers in the United States with Hackster.io. To compete, you will build a game skill for Echo Buttons – gaming-friendly gadgets that connect to compatible Echo devices - through the Alexa Developer Console. Once your skill is published, submit your game skill build experience on this contest page for a chance to win!
With Echo Buttons, developers can build engaging gaming experiences that bring families and friends together. We’re looking for you to help us build games for Echo Buttons!
Not located in the U.S.? If you are located in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, or Austria, you can participate in our Alexa Skills Challenge: Games.
Echo Buttons offer an interactive way to play games with compatible Echo devices. Customers are already using Echo Buttons for family game nights with a catalog of more than 100 compatible Alexa game skills, such as Trivial Pursuit Tap by Hasbro, Hanagram, Bandit Buttons, and Don't Cut that Wire.
Don't have an Echo or Echo Buttons to test your skill? Use the Alexa Simulator!
The Alexa Simulator allows you to test your Alexa skill without owning a device. Testing capabilities include text input, JSON debugging, and visual display by adding features like the ability to test multi-turn conversation, entity resolution, and dialog management.
Submit your projects to this contest for a chance to win. A great contest submission will tell a great story, have a target audience in mind, and make people smile. We’ve set up winning opportunities for a whole slew of Alexa skills - $25,000 worth of prizes in total!
Be among the first to publish your Echo Buttons game skills to win even more!
The first 150 people to publish skills to both the Alexa Skill Store and the Hackster contest page will receive a 2-pack of Echo Buttons - with a special bonus prize of $100 Amazon Gift Cards* for the first 25 developers. (Skill must be published between the contest start and end dates).
The Amazon team and other participants are accessible for help and questions on the contest discussion tab.
Keep in mind you don't need an Echo or Echo Buttons (or any hardware) to participate and build your skill. Use our technical resources to get started:
