Build Your Best-of-2025 Project — and Win $500
Building on our Best of 2025 news articles, this competition invites you to create your own personal “best project of the year” for a chance to win $500 in cash. We’ll even give you $150 toward your bill of materials.
DevKit HQ has teamed up with Hackster to bring you the latest MCU, SBC, and FPGA development boards to power your Best of 2025 build.
We’re selecting 60 hardware applications and giving each one a $150 materials fund to help bring their projects to life!

Pick your board, build something incredible, and show the world your best project of the year!
Head over to DevKit HQ to find the right development board for your idea. Once you’ve chosen your project and selected a board, submit a hardware application for the chance to receive $150 for materials and to compete for a $500 prize.
Be sure to include the specific MCU, SBC, or FPGA board you plan to use in your hardware application to qualify for the $150 BOM fund. You’re welcome to use a board you already own or purchase a new one from your preferred vendor.
How to Join- Visit DevKit HQ or your select distributor to choose the MCU, SBC, or FPGA that fits your project.
- Submit your hardware application for this competition.
- Hackster will select the 60 most innovative and creative ideas to receive $150 to help fund the BOM.
- Order your materials, build your project and submit it before the submittion deadline.
