DRINKWATER!!
This is what our elders yelled at us since we were kids. We used to wonder why do they focus so much on drinking water. But now as we've grown up and read about several scientific research papers, we know what they actually meant!
Today we know that our body is 70% water and when water content drops in our body, dehydration doesn't feel good right? Every day we lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For our body to function properly, we must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water. Consumption of water should be even more for young adults and they have to do a lot of physical tasks throughout the day. Consumption of water at regular intervals not only fulfills our body's water content, it results in healthy skin and hair, improved digestion, efficient metabolism and much more!
We know all this but still we aren't able to follow this routine, to give the body what it needs the most. We often forget about it or make excuses. This is where the project DRINK WATER!! comes in to play. It reminds you every 90 minutes to drink water through the buzzer. It rings for a few seconds to remind you and then automatically goes off. Now we can't make an excuse of forgetting about it because, this my friend won't let you forget!
CONNECTIONS:1. We'll connect the buzzer to the breadboard, the shorter leg (-ve) will be connected to GND pin of the BOLT WiFi module and the longer leg to the pin number 1 (+ve).
2. Using jumper wires we'll make the connections from the breadboard to the BOLT WiFi module.
3. Connect the BOLT WiFi module to power supply and connect it to the BOLT CLOUD.
That's all my friend! The Hardware job is over.
Now we'll use INTEGROMAT to finish our project.
4. Create your free account on INTEGROMAT.
5. Now select BOLT IOT from the given options.
6. Create a new scenario and click on Bolt icon from favorites and then select execute command.
7. Now link your module by entering your API key of BOLT WiFi module from your BOLT cloud dashboard.
8. Enter on Command and Write down the following command mention below:-
Command - Write digital Output
Device Name - BOLT13xxxxxx
PIN - 1
State - HIGH
9. Now for the alert to last a few seconds, we will add Sleep option from the tools option given below. We'll mention the seconds we want the buzzer to ring for.
10. Now we'll add another module and select Bolt IoT. we will give the following inputs as we gave for the first module.
Command - Write digital Output
Device Name - BOLT13xxxxxx
PIN - 1
State - LOW
The only change we'll make is in the state option and change it to LOW, this is in order to switch off the buzzer after operating for a few seconds. Otherwise, thye buzzer would keep on ringing!
11. Now we'll click at the clock icon on the first module we allocated. This gives us the benefit of scheduling our action i.e. to schedule the ringing of the buzzer to alert us about drinking water.
We'll select the run scenario as at regular intervals and then mention the duration of interval in minutes. We'll select advanced scheduling and the days and months and the time during which this alert system would be active. Click add to submit the options selected and then click on the save icon given below.
We're selecting the months in which the temperatures are high in Indian subcontinent and the timings during which an average person stays active. Obviously these settings are up to the user and can be customized accordingly.
And, our scenario is ready to roll!
Turn on the scheduling and the device will start working instantly.
