There are now many DIN rail housing solutions available for the Raspberry Pi. However, most of these housings do not provide for power supply from a standard DC voltage, e.g. 24V, nor do they allow for custom circuits.
The Raspibox V3 offers additional features for the Raspberry Pi5 and Pi4 in addition to switch cabinet mounting:
- Integrated switching regulator for 5V/4A
- Slot for an optional HAT
- perfboard area for custom circuits
- Additional connection terminals for custom applications
- stepped standard housing for European distribution boxes
The core component is a circuit board that secures the Raspberry Pi in the housing and also contains the voltage regulator and other functions:
- 1 Terminal for power supply
- 2 Terminals for general purpose
- 3 female header for Raspberry Pi
- 4 male header for optional HAT
- 5 voltage regulator
- 6 breadboard / proto board area
- 7 area for active cooler
- 8 internal connector for general purpose terminals
There is a slot for an optional HAT on the circuit board. This slot is internally connected to the GPIO pins of the Raspberry Pi and arranged so that it also fits into the stepped standard housing for European distribution boxes.
The Raspibox contains two 5-pin terminal blocks that can be used freely. The two terminals are connected to adjacent headers. Using jumper wires, you can connect your own circuit components on the perfboard or the output terminals of a HAT to the outside:
You can make your own circuit parts on the built-in perfboard. The GPIO pins of the Raspberry Pi and the operating voltages are on separate connectors next to the perfboard, so they're super easy to use.
CoolingThe case is equipped with cooling slots for improved air circulation. Additional cooling measures are required for the Raspberry Pi 5. The circuit board has been designed to allow the use of an ActiveCooler for the Raspberry Pi 5.
