What is Our Aim?
Our aim is to create a smart plant monitor that allows you to view the temperature, humidity and pressure of different fruits and vegetables in urban farming, without the need to even be there.
What is Our Project About?
Our project, the Flexible Vegetable Monitor, is a groundbreaking venture into the realm of smart urban farming technology. It represents a flexible and adaptable solution for monitoring the critical parameters—temperature, humidity, and pressure—of various fruits and vegetables in urban farming environments.
Why Did We Decide to Make It?
The inspiration behind the Flexible Vegetable Monitor arose from a collective desire to empower urban farmers with the tools they need to cultivate thriving crops in any setting. Recognizing the challenges of urban spaces and diverse plant structures, we aimed to create a device that could seamlessly integrate with different plants while providing real-time data to enhance the farming experience.
Urban farming has emerged as a vital component of sustainable living, but it comes with its unique set of challenges. Our team believed that technology could bridge the gap between traditional farming practices and the demands of urban living. We wanted to offer a solution that not only monitored plant conditions but also contributed to a sense of community and knowledge-sharing among urban farmers.
How Does It Work?
The Flexible Vegetable Monitor employs a sophisticated sensor system that is, true to its name, flexible and adaptable. The sensors delicately wrap around leaves and stems, ensuring minimal intrusion while maximizing data accuracy. These sensors continuously monitor temperature, humidity, and pressure, providing a comprehensive view of the plant's environment.
The device communicates seamlessly with a user-friendly mobile app, allowing urban farmers to access real-time data from their crops. The app provides insights into the health and growth of plants, offering recommendations for optimal conditions. The integration of solar panels makes the monitor self-sustainable and eco-friendly, aligning with our commitment to creating a solution that not only solves a problem but does so with a minimal environmental footprint.
In essence, the Flexible Vegetable Monitor is not just a piece of technology; it's a catalyst for a greener, smarter, and more connected urban farming community. By providing a window into the world of plants and fostering a sense of shared knowledge, our project seeks to enhance the urban farming experience and contribute to the sustainability of our cities.
