Rover-71: Science Payload & Autonomous Environmental Sensing Framework Overview & Project ContextThis project presents the science payload architecture and electrical integration developed for the AAUB Rover-71 platform, which represented Bangladesh at the University Rover Challenge (URC 2026) finals at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah, USA, securing a global ranking of 34th out of 116 teams, as well as 11th globally at the Anatolian Rover Challenge (ARC 2025).
As the Science Team Lead, I directed the design and fabrication of the rover's payload for in-situ soil, rock, and environmental analysis, while personally designing custom power distribution PCBs and sensor interface electronics.
Technical Contributions & Architecture1. Custom Power & Signal PCB Layout: Designed custom PCB layouts in Altium Designer to manage power distribution, voltage regulation, and sensor interface filtering under rugged environmental conditions.2. Environmental Sensor Fusion Array: Integrated multi-sensor arrays for atmospheric, biological, and environmental telemetry.3. ROS2 Software Pipeline: Integrated low-level microcontrollers with a ROS2-based system architecture for real-time sensor data collection, processing, and remote telemetry transmission to the base station.
