Application Information
SolarYouSwipe is an easy to use, intuitive solar converter that allows users to select designated planets, input age and weight, and convert these metrics across different planets. Whether you are traveling from Venus to Neptune, or from Earth to Jupiter, this application will allow you to quickly check your age and weight on the destination planet.
SolarYouSwipe has fragment-based tab layout, with a selectable Action Bar at the top of the application. Touching a tab in the Action Bar will bring you to that specific page. Additionally, for increased usability, it is also possible to navigate between tabs with the use of swipes (left and right). Screens that are on the smaller side will be able to view all content with the scrolling function imbedded in each of the tabbed pages.
Using the Application
Using SolarYouSwipe is quite simple.
On the first tab, the user is prompted with "Select your HOME planet." Here, the user simply touches the preferred planet to convert age and weight from.
On the second tab, the user is then prompted with "Select your DESTINATION planet." As with the first tab, the user simply needs to touch the preferred planet. This choice will be decide what planet's metrics the inputted age and weight are converted to.
On the final tab, the user can input age in years and days as well as weight.
After hitting the CONVERT button, the user is shown a display with the converted numbers directly below the button. The user can go back to an old tab at any point in time to change the designated planets.

Additional Notes
Overall, I had a pretty fun time developing this application. It is the first Android application that I have written from scratch, so there was much learning done in the course of this project. After deciding to work with Fragments, I discovered how complex and frustrating they could become, especially when creating simple features. Hopefully, now that I have worked a little with them, I will be able to implement more polished and user-friendly applications in the future.
