The project involves an innovative light bulb for homes that I called "Join". I decided to participate in this challenge because I think that today we increasingly need to objects around/near us, which should make our lives easier, and in the light bulb I have seen great margins of improvement. Today, the objects has to perform more functions simultaneously (multifunctionality), must be connected, eco-friendly and efficient. "Join" in fact wants to be a new lighting system with LED technology, with sensors for environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity and noise), motion sensor and gas and fire detection connected to an acoustic alarm. Furthermore, "Join" presents a innovative spherical shell, which can rotate 180 ° around an axis, in case of switching on and off of the bulb. In case the lamp was turned off, a half of the sphere, covered with photovoltaic modules, absorbs energy from the environment, helping the power supply of the electrical system, while when the bulb is turned on, towards the outside is the portion of the transparent sphere seeds therefore able to illuminate. However, the real innovation lies in the optimization system of the distribution of the emitted light, an idea born from the problem between the fixed positions of light bulb and a variable position of our activities. This system I called Variable Light Distribution (VLD). This brought forth in me a solution, to move a parable which affects the light directing in the area of interest at the right intensity. This allows the bulb to not have a fixed characteristic of illuminance, but to have the ability to adapt to the receiving surface in the most efficient manner. Improved feature with a small cost/benefit ratio. The handling is entrusted to the servo connected to a dedicated app, the same one that monitors and manages the sensor parameters. Wanting to explain the nomenclature that I have given to the system, Join, is a word that identifies the union, connection, participation, characteristics that fit with the technologies introduced especially with the VLD system that links not in a fixed manner, like nobody in fact before, the source with the receiver.
