You can buy a cheap NE555 PWM module. It will spin a motor. It will dim a lamp. But it won't do soft start, soft stop, voltage compensation, protection, or hysteresis.
This one does.
Built around ATtiny13A, it works with:
- Brushed DC motors
- High-power LEDs and halogen lamps
- DC heating elements
Same hardware. Different loads.
The controller is paired with a cyclone dust collector β made from a supermarket jar and a mattress pump blower. It keeps the CNC clean without spending hundreds on a dedicated system.
Power limits depend only on MOSFET and diode. Scale it up β from a few watts to several hundred.
The whole process is documented: KiCad files, laser engraving, etching, soldering, and testing.
