LoRaWAN Based Smart Industrial Waste Oil Tracking System

The project addresses environmental pollution caused by uncontrolled disposal of industrial waste oil. Using a LoRaWAN-based IoT system, oil tank levels are monitored via sensors and transmitted to the cloud. This enables prevention of overflow and leakage, optimization of recycling processes, and improvement of environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.

1. Planning and Design The uncontrolled deterioration of oils used in industrial malfunctions causes serious environmental and water pollution. This project aims to ensure that waste oils can be stored and recycled without overflowing or leaking.

2. Building the Circuit ✓ Place the RAK11300 module on the WisBlock Base Board. ✓ Place the RAK12005 sensor in slot A and the RAK12030 module in a way that will read sensor data. 5

3. Assembly and Mechanical Structure It is mounted on the top cover or mouth of the sensor. The sensor's purpose is to contact the oil and measure the surface height (fill level).

4. Programming and Configuration ✓ Install the Arduino IDE and install the RAKwireless libraries. ✓ Open the sample code. 6 ✓ ✓ Edit the section that converts the liquid level values to percentages.

Enter the required credentials (DevEUI, AppEUI, AppKey) to connect your device to the LoRaWAN network.

5. Testing and Validation ✓ Register the device to TTN and test the connection status. ✓ Send sensor data to Dashboard via TTN.

The prototype was systematically tested in both hardware and software to ensure it performed as expected. Connection Tests: The LoRaWAN module was checked for proper communication with the gateway. Sensor Tests: The sensor tested the value it produced when in contact with liquid. Data Transmission Tests: Data recording and proper reception of this data on the server (The Things Network) were verified.
