Why I built it
Read moreI wanted to play around with the default (former) Android Things Developer Kit and learn something new. That's why I choose the Rainbow HAT and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
Also it sounded like an epic "old meets new" technology mash up. The old pager-styled segment display on the one hand and the modern, cloudy Firebase ecosystem on the other one.
