- This Project is for our makers lab cardboard sensory project. The blue paint is to represent cold. The spikes on the tip and the sharp knobs represent spikiness. The strings represent boing because of the noise they make when struck. The white paint represents splat because it is splattered onto the ukulele. We Built this ukulele by first cutting cardboard into many outlines of a Ukulele using exact knives. We then cut out the inside of all but two of the outlines so that the inside of the ukulele would be hollow. once we had the cuts, we painted the pieces that would be on the exterior blue. After we completed that we used a lot of glue to put the pieces together. Once we had the Full body of the ukulele we drilled four holes in the top where the wooden dowels would go. We inserted the dowels and tied rubber bands around them. Finally we made separators and a device to hold the rubber bands at the bottom. After the ukulele was complete, we constructed a small stand to give it a more aesthetically pleasing look.
