Jawbone Foursquare Notifier

1. Set up your Jawbone and set a goal for steps and calories

2. Connect the Jawbone and Foursquare Thing on Octoblu

• Log into Octoblu

• Search "Jawbone" in the search bar in the upper left hand corner and its icon in the results. 

• Click configure under the Jawbone icon in the upper right hand corner. 

• Repeat sub-steps 2 and 3 for Foursquare. 

3. Import the flows

• Click on bar icon in the upper left hand corner.

• Click on the Discover tab.

• Search "Jawbone Foursquare Notifier".

• Click import button on the Jawbone Foursquare Notifier project.

• Click the blue cloud in the lower right hand corner. 

• Repeat steps 4 and 5 for Jawbone Foursquare Notifier - Activity and Jawbone Foursquare Notifier - Food.

4. Add your Information

• In each Foursquare Thing in the Jawbone Foursquare Notifier - Food  and Activity project  input your User ID in the field.

• In each SMS Thing in Jawbone Foursquare Notifier, Food,  and Activity project enter in your number with your country code. 

5. Connect the Food and Activity flows to the main flow

• Go into Things in the tab bar in the left hand corner.

• Search each Foursquare Notifier, Food, and activity flow in Connected Things.

• Make sure each flow has granted all permissions to the other flows. 

• Go back into the Food and Activity flows.

• Deploy the Food and Activity flows.

• Go into Jawbone Foursquare Notifier and replace the other flows with your Food and Activity flow. 

• Refresh the page.

6. Run the main flow!

• Deploy the main flow and see what texts you get.

• If you do not have any venue likes that match your goal criteria you might not get a response.

• Octoblu has a rate limit of 1 message per minute, so expect a bit of a delay between each message. 

7. Modification

• Twilio - to have your messages come to you instantly replace the SMS Thing with a configured Twilio Thing. 

• To change the Foursquare categories assigned to your goal, feel free to change around some of the words in the Function Things.

• To constantly receive recommendations change the trigger Thing in the main flow to an interval. I would recommend the interval to be at least every hour.
