Build your home own automation system using an Edison, Raspberry Pi or Windows as the automation hub. Control it through a web interface.
This project is designed to be an open, maker friendly framework for building a home automation system. The automation hub software is based on Node.js and can be run on a variety of Linux and Windows platforms including Edison, Raspberry Pi and Windows. The web interface is written in JQuery .
The name of your serial com port for communicating with the xbee ZigBee device is platform specific: you can specify the name of the serial port with the -x parameter or use one of the following aliases: pi, edison, none
node server.js -x edison
We support:
- Control of xbee ZigBee devices
- Sensor input from replayr devices (e.g. Wunderbar)
- Remote Control of Sparkcore devices
- Weather input from Weather Underground
- SMS notifications through Twilio
To demonstrate the xbee ZigBee support we built a lamp controller module.
Other things we tried:
- we rebuild the edison kernel to support video streaming
- we looked at using the at&t webrtc api
And finally, we got some WunderCandy:-)
