Connected Pillbox

As part of our school curriculum, we had to think about a project that could communicate information in order to put into practice the knowledge we had learned during the year.

However we had some constraints to respect: we had to communicate data in LoRa, store them in a database and display them on a dashboard.

We chose to make a connected pillbox by thinking about a problem we had noticed before. Indeed, when a person has to take many drugs, he/she will potentially invest in a pillbox to plan his/her doses. However, the main problem of these pillboxes is the fact that there is no security to prevent taking all the boxes in one shot. This can lead to many cases of intoxication and in the worst case the death of the patient.

It is around this point that we wanted to develop our pillbox. Thanks to its revolving lid, only one box is opened at any given time of the day and according to the time of intake. When a moment of intake arrives in the day, the lid will turn so that the right box is opened and the others are covered.

In addition to this, our pillbox allows us to communicate the patient's temperature and pulse rate to our database and then display them on a web page.
