How many people here enjoy waiting in line at a busy restaurant or business? Nobody likes long queues. Customers lead busy lives and have other things they would rather be doing than waiting. Neither do businesses. Businesses increase profits by 1% if they decrease wait times by 6 seconds.
We developed a mock mobile app that lets customers of fast food chains order food before they arrive at the drive-through. When customers arrive at the drive-through, the Bluetooth Low Energy sensors will detect their presence and compute their physical order in the queue, so workers can prioritize preparing fast food orders for customers who will arrive first, resulting in satisfied customers receiving faster service.
We used Bluetooth Low Energy sensors and the iBeacon protocol to detect distance between the user's Bluetooth LE equipped smart phone in their car. We then compute their physical position in the queue and use that information to decrease the time customers wait.
This project has a lot of room for growth. It would work in any company anywhere on the globe.
