We live in a world where many debilitating illnesses are widespread and can cause a person to have to endure the remaining years of their life in frequent hospital visits and doctor care. $17 billion US dollars are spent on readmits for patients with chronic conditions every year. Our app is a cheap, easy-to-use, reliable smartphone based telemedical platform that gives patients the freedom to stay home while having all their vital sign monitoring continued by their medical provider remotely. It also guarantees that the patients could feel safe and secure knowing that their doctor has the ability to consistently monitor their blood pressure, without them having to have the anxiety of checking it and looking at it. It takes away the responsibility of vital sign monitoring from both the doctors and the patients and instead alerts both parties whenever any measurements stray from what’s normal. Patient compliance is also another essential aspect of any medical treatment, so Sanitas also provides reminders and viewable information for medication prescriptions and upcoming doctor appointments. It tracks the amount of medication left and allows the patient to order prescription refills in the app, as well as call the doctor for any appointment changes needed.
README
To build and run our project, first open application.xml from intPrototypeSim/ and run Kinoma Create, the simulator. Once the device is running, open application.xml from intPrototypePhone/ and run the Nexus One simulator. If you adjust the input pins on the simulator, remember to click the refresh buttons on the phone application whenever applicable. You may also need to download the font Avenir. Happy Clicking!
Notes:
- Gridlines for graphs in data visualization show up in Windows but not for Macs.
- Even with the correct font downloaded, the layout for the Doctor screens is off when the project is opened in Windows, even though everything looks correct on a Mac computer.
