Here is the Story behind homemade Amplifier
I was listening to music using earphone because I had no amplifier for loudspeaker in my home. I was planning to buy one but it was too expensive. Then, I planned to build my own. I bought each and every hardware required to build the Audio Amplifier. I was shocked knowing the price of these components. I brought the components nearly 70% less money than that of loudspeaker amplifier in the market.
Step 1: Gathering all the necessary materials along with hardware componentsHeat Sink
Soldering Iron
PCB board
Soldering Wire
Headphone jack
Plug and play sound speaker jack
You can buy the PCB from the market for LA4440 IC. If not, you can build your own PCB using Proteus software. Make sure you have same PCB as shown in the fig. above. Block diagram of PCB layout is given below.
Front view of the PC is given below:
Be careful while inserting condenser into the PCB. Check for positive and negative pin of it. After inserting all the components, it looks like the figure below:
After inserting, make sure that components are inserted as shown in the PCB layout. After verifying the connection between the components, Solder all the hardware components using soldering iron and Soldering wire.
After soldering all the pins, fix the heat sink with the IC. Make sure you used paste between heat sink and the IC and tie it with nuts and bolts. Heat sink is used for dissipating heat of the IC to the environment. If you don’t use heat sink, then IC can get damaged in short time.
For making sound control system, connect the wire with the usage of the following PCB diagram:
Note: In the circuit board it is clearly written “out, in and DC out” pin. “In” pin is used for connecting the potentiometer pin to it. The output to the speaker is connected to “Out” pin on circuit board and other wire is grounded. The input voltage is given through ground and other through the DC input which I have labeled on the above figure.
The final circuit will look like the fig. below:
Note that it is a 19W audio amplifier, so make sure you are connecting speaker having the power of 19W or less than it. Also, the input voltage of amplifier is 12v. Don’t connect the device to the more power supply.
You have successfully built a homemade audio amplifier. Now, Enjoy the music with loudspeaker.
