Since using the BeagleV-Ahead and trying to port Armbian to it, I have been waiting. I waited until I could actually test Armbian on one of the many beagleboard.org boards they have produced.
Now, it is possible. I got a notification a while back and wanted to test whatever it was I read about during the notifying note.
So, I have not gotten to make the Wifi chip on my BBAI-64 work just yet. Ethernet works out of the box which is nice. There is really no other action to take...
1. I plug the micro SD Card into the computer.
2. I then use Etcher to write the image to the micro SD Card.
3. I wait and then once written, I plug the micro SD Card into the BBAI-64 and boot.
Once it boots with the Ethernet cable attached, I find my IP Address on my local network and then type root@192.168.1.xx where xx is the last two identifying numerical values for the IP Address.
1234 is needed at times but I think, with this specific Armbian Distro (Trixie), the output prompts me to change the passwd quickly for root and add the user.
So, there will be a root user and a local user. There is a small prompt with a few questions all of which seemed pretty reasonable. Nothing too revealing...
Anyway, I updated, upgraded, and rebooted. Now, my system is up and running. I have yet to make the 3D Printing build work just yet with what Armbian is offering but that is okay. I am sure it is more complicated than just clicking and presuming to have 100% functionality off the bat...
