YAFF started just before a Christmas vacations.
I needed to leave the fishes alone for a few days. So, I took a small container, a servo motor, hot glue, an Arduino board and some free time.
And I built a first functional fish feeder capable of serve fish food each "X" hours (Hard-coded value). Then I was adding progressively some extra features:
- Configuration via serial interface - Command based.
- Save configuration parameters into EEPROM.
- Light sensor - I wanted to avoid feeding cycles at night.
- Status led - Turned on when feeding cycle is working (Just, Pavlov classical conditioning).
Finally, i wrote an Android app to serve as YAFF client. So, you can configure (and little more) YAFF via Bluetooth.
