The story behind this project is a challenge that I accepted from one of IoT mentors, she encouraged me to work on a beneficial project and that would help me understand more about communication protocols used in IoT, I had to seek help from Google to come up with this, I also followed guidelines from other sources such as https://iotcircuithub.com/smart-home-with-google-assistant-alexa/#:~:text=With%20this%20NodeMCU%20ESP8266%20project, there%20is%20no%20internet%20available. and made the necessary changes.
Here is a link to images and videos of my project, the videos do not present the real project but a prototype, the real project involves AC bulbs control using manual switches and Alexa app: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Pf2jkwRYbyupor6c9
The project works through inter-networking, my NodeMCU ESP-12F is connected to my local network which makes it easy to communicate with Sinric Pro Server which communicates with Alexa through the internet. I send a command to Alexa, Alexa is linked to Sinric Pro therefore sends the command to Sinric and direct to my NodeMCU ESP-12F which results to the control of lights.
