I converted a ball golf pull cart to a disc golf bag carrier cart. I used an Arduino Nano to add distance measuring capabilities. I also plan to add a real time clock, data saving etc. as project progresses.

It employs a A3144 Hall effect sensor at one of the wheel hubs. 3 magnets were mounted on the hub, separated by 120 degrees. Wheel is 9.25 inches in diameter. This allows resolution of about +- 10 inches, much closer if I manually position wheel when starting measurement.
