This project is a celebration of the Free Speech Movement (FSM) that started in 1964; it is now its 50th anniversary!
Description:
After downloading the Draw for Free Speech app, the user needs to install the app on the Toq watch through the Qualcomm Toq app itself to allow for full interaction between the phone and the watch.
When standing within a 50-meter radius from Sproul plaza with his Android phone and Toq watch, the user eventually receives a "Draw Request" notification on his Toq watch to draw something on the Draw for Free Speech app for a certain figure of the FSM.
The user looks at his Draw for Free Speech app on his Toq watch to see a list of the figures. He selects the one from the notification to see an image of the figure as well as what to draw for the figure. Upon tapping the card for the figure on his watch, the drawing application opens up on the phone.
The drawing app comes with 3 different brush sizes, 3 eraser sizes, 12 colors, a save button, a "new image" button, and a button that allows the user to upload a drawing on his Flickr (with the tag "cs160fsm"). After drawing, saving, and uploading an image to Flickr, the user will see the 2nd-most recently drawn searchable image with that very same tag on his Toq watch.
Notes:
I learned how to create a drawing app by following Sue Smith's drawing app tutorial found here: http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/android-sdk-create-a-drawing-app-touch-interaction--mobile-19202. It was definitely very helpful and I learned a lot from it!
