With this ESP8266 project, you can regularly check the number of likes for your latest Instagram Post online. Depending on how many likes have been added since the last query, LEDs will light up to satisfy your thirst for recognition ;)
The code is relatively simple, you connect your ESP8266 to the internet (don't forget to put your credentials into the code) and retrieve and parse data from Instagram as JSON. One of the most important changes you need to make is in line 20:
#define REQUEST_PATH "/spacex/?__a=1"
Here the likes of Spacex are retrieved as default, which is not bad for testing, because Spacex gets a lot of likes ;)
To use your own Instagram account, just replace "spacex" with your account name. Be careful not to change the parameters behind the name!
This project doesn't use a special library like "arduino-instagram-stats" but fetches the data directly from Instagram. To parse the JSON data this project uses the excellent library ArduinoJson.
By default, your ESP8266 fires a request every 10 seconds to see if there are any new Likes. Depending on how many likes you get in a given time, you can modify this period and the statements for switching the LEDs on and off.
Have fun with your Likes!
