This is a local first sovereignty solution integrating metal to application. From custom OS to Mobile Hom3 cyberdeck to application layer we aim to bring a smarter safer way to live our digital lives.
The hardware is in prototype testing our OS and App integration for Mobile Hom3. The OS boot-init has been MIT licensed on GitHub. 100% rust, zero external crates, 2660(LOC) so it can be audited.
Currently running smooth install offline and boot offline. Real challenges were handling drivers to HDMI/usb etc as well as security seam between init and application. Latest dev work was on keyboard handling for mobile or smaller screens while desktop defaulting for larger without cache or cookies (the standard handling, anti-thesis for me). On the hardware side I’m working on wiring/heat/battery and ultimately encasement design. Finalizing production board decisions with Radxa CM5 carrier board looking attractive.
We are working on a potential Crowd Supply distribution campaign. Follow for updates on this development.
While at the application layer we are bringing too many features to list they share a common thread. Sovereignty. For communication we let mesh(Lora and WiFi) sit alongside your normal email. For your library artifacts sit encrypted and hyper compressed and render In-state. My whole 1, 000 artifact library currently sits at around 3MB (including a 5 minute video), pdfs, text etc.
I am ai agnostic but building safer rails for it. I see it as a powerful tool that needs human in the loop and adversarial in the loop to keep from drift or harm. We built the rails, the local persistent memory and the logbook to make it worth using. This has actually been a challenge as the sovereignty and developmental community is so polarized on the topic. I try to be the utilitarian middle.
Feel free to follow along for the journey and early access
