Open a blank circuit with SimulIDE simulator software.
Our circuitLocate fixed voltage on the left side menu, you may have to expand. Pull it onto the blank circuit grid. Locate the resistor and pull it onto the grid. Finally, one Led.
Right click on the LED and select properties, or double-click. Other commands edit and rearrange the component.
Make sure Grounded is checked or you add an external ground.
Some computer mice come with a spinning scroll wheel in between the left and right buttons. The wheel is a press button, too. If you have one you can zoom in and out.
Click in the corner of your circuit. and spin the scroll wheel up and down. Change corners and spin, again. Try to center your circuit on the screen. This is how design and photo editting programs work.
Just like a real circuit we can have running
on, running but paused
turned off stopped
When you don't see the results you expect check the power/running. Sometimes SimulIDE will shut down to protect you and your circuit.
CursorsThe SimulIDE cursor changes depending on your mode. Watch for it to know what you can do.
Left-Click on the corner of the fixed voltage. Look for the Cross cursor. Pull the black wire over to the resistor and left click when you get to the little black terminal.
Finish between the resistor and the led. You can right-click directly on a connection to remove. Try it a few times.
Use the power on/off and pause buttons at the top of the IDE screen. The box on the Fixed Voltage is an on/off switch.
Try adding another LED.
