In a bustling suburban community, I found myself deeply concerned about the safety and efficiency of school bus transportation. Inspired by my own child's well-being and driven by a vision, I embarked on a journey to create the (IOT Enabled) School Bus Monitoring System Project.
What is the Project About?The School Bus Monitoring System is a project I developed to ensure the safety and security of students during their daily commute to and from school. It addresses the challenges of school bus transportation by offering real-time monitoring and comprehensive management features.
Why Did I Decide to Make It?I was motivated by the alarming statistics of school bus accidents and delays that put students at risk and caused stress for parents. Recognizing the need for a technology-driven solution, I set out to create a system that would provide peace of mind for parents, enhance the efficiency of school transportation, and, above all, prioritize the safety of children.
How Does It Work?It operates through a user-friendly web application with two primary options: "View Live" and "Students On Bus."

1. View Live: For school administration, this option provides real-time tracking of all school buses on a map. Administrators can monitor the exact location of each bus, ensuring on-time arrivals and departures. If there are any deviations or delays, they can take action accordingly. This feature also offers detailed route information, allowing administrators to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance overall fleet management. Additionally, parents can also track their students through this option. Furthermore, there are more features in this option as follows:
- Temperature and Humidity (Live using DHT 22 sensor).
- ValuesofMPU 6050 ( can be used for many purposes like uncertain activities -> accidents).
- Liveimages of Bus (Inside View using Raspberry Pi Camera).
2. Students On Bus: Parents and guardians have access to this option, which displays a list of students currently on a specific school bus. They can view the names and statuses of students on board, ensuring peace of mind as they know their child is safely on route to or from school.
- This includes cards of each students live on the school bus.
