“Hangout & Nerdout” is a community virtual meetup series co-produced by Hackster and Make:. The first episode will debut on Aug 31st where we're planning to geek out on #wearables.

Meet our amazing ✨bling bling 🦄 guest nerds line-up:

Kitty Yeung, creative technologist, startup founder & ex-creator for Microsoft Quantum Computing. Her brand Art by Physicist is a sustainable fashion brand elevating wearable tech for women. Kitty is always exploring and inventing unique techniques in fashion tech from embroidering laser into kimono to adding solar-power to garments. Her genius goes beyond using open-source hardware, 3D printing and physics simulations to create one-of-a-kind designs - her brand works with sustainability-conscious partners and has a mission to lead the way for on-demand garment production and reducing environmental footprint. She'll be talking to us about her brand new Meow Collection, where she crowdsourced from around the world beloved kitty images in making the digital print design, to honor the little friends who gave humans comfort, love, and friendship. As the technophile mom of three boys, Debra Ansell, founder of Bright Wearables and GeekMomProjects, Debra loves making LED-enhanced fashion accessory projects that others can build as well. Her new ambitious crossover maker project Lux Lavalier is a beautiful low-power wearable necklace with blinky Fibonacci organic spirals, co-created with Ben Hencke(ElectroMage) and Jason Coon. Sophy Wong is a multi-disciplinary designer specializing in wearable technology and digital fabrication for creative expressions. With a love for sci-fi and fantasy, she has created dazzling futuristic-inspired costumes -most famously a spacesuit containing internal lighting, voice-reactive external lights, and a cooling fan system that cycles in cool air the helmet. She is a frequent speaker at creative technology events and maker faires - check out her 2019 interview with us - we're excited to have her back and share with us her updates! (Twitter: @sophywong)
