Dragonator consists of two parts:
1. The phone application
2. The device application
The phone application consists of:
1. Feed Dragon: This option helps you feed the dragon a type of food from a number of choices. There is also a tip that indicates what the best food is for the dragon according to it's vital signs. This tip can be ignored. The tips include:
i. "Dragon is too fat. Feed it veggies!"
ii. "Breath is too cold. Feed the dragon meat"
iii. "Your dragon is healthy. Treat it with a sweet"
The different choices once in this menu are:
i. Sweet: If this option is chosen the dragon is fed sweets and the device application updates with a picture of sweets.
ii. Meat: This allows you to feed the dragon meat. The picture on the device application updates with a picture of meat.
iii. Veggies: This allows you to feed the dragon veggies (in case it isn't fit). The picture on the device application updates with a picture of veggies.
In all these cases, the food pin is manually increased and decreased to show that food has been dispensed. The assumption is that the feeder has a pressure sensor that indicates in kilograms as to how much food is present in the feeder.
There is also an option to move back to the main screen in case the user wishes not to feed the dragon.
2. Status of Dragon: This option allows you to see the vital signs of the dragon. This information is in real time and is updated every one second. The various types of signs that can be monitored are:
i. Weight: Indicates the weight in kilograms. If the dragon is more than 40 kg the line becomes red indicating that it is bad.
ii. Temperature of flame: Indicates how hot the flame is in ºC. If the flame is above 150 ºC it means that it is good for the dragon and is hence highlighted in green.
iii. Food on the tray: Indicates how much food is on the tray. If there is any food on the tray at all, this entry is highlighted with red.
The advantage is that the information is updated in real time and there is no need to click a button to refresh or update. This applies for all aspects of the phone application.
Note: There is also a time input. It indicates the time of the day. It can be manually changed using the slider. Ideally it should be connected to a clock that gives the time of the day.
3. Notifications: Tells the user when there is some activity. The two main activities are
i. Dragon is at the feeder: This indicates that the dragon is at the feeder and that it's time to feed your dragon. This occurs when the weight of the dragon is more than 0 since it indicates that the dragon is present.
ii. Food has been eaten: Says that the dragon has eaten the food in the feeder. This occurs when the food in the tray becomes 0.
Device Application
The device application consists of four pins and an interface. The four pins are:
1. Time: Indicates the current time of the day. It should be ideally connected to a clock tat gives information to this pin.
2. Food: Indicates the amount of food that has been dispensed in kg. This is again manually controlled now since it needs to be connected to a pressure sensor to get actual values. This varies from 0 kg to 2 kg.
3. Weight: Indicates the weight of the dragon in kg. It ranges from 0 kg, which indicates that there is no dragon, to 100 kg.
4. FireSense: Indicates how hot the breath of the dragon is in ºC. It ranges from 20ºC to 200ºC
The screen consists of:
1. Image: This indicates the type of food that is currently on the feeder. Initially this has a picture of the food pyramid for a user to know what food is good and what is bad.
2. Information: This just indicates the current state of the pins. It is updated in real time and doesn't need an extra action or button to update.
