After using Thing-Speak for a while for visualizing the sensor data I search an alternative for that and the google gives this option Things-Board platform after some further studies its seems like convenient for the device management, data collection, processing and visualization also offers different types of gauges better interactive User Interfaces.
Now we see create an account and configure the device details in the Things-Board website.
go to https://thingsboard.io/ and click TRY IT NOW
they offering different types of installation methods for the simple project or prototype uses click LIVE DEMO
signup page will appear.Enter the details name, mail-id and password. accept privacy policy click sign up.
Conformation mail will send to your registered mail-id
Then login with your mail-id and password into the things board account. If you not able to find the login page just type (Things-Board login) in the google search bar.
after login you will have the page like this
Now we head towards the device creation that means . for example assume that ESP8266 as controller board to transmit the data of DHT11 sensor to measure the room temperature and humidity data. Here the ESP266 is the hardware device we are going to link this hardware device to the things_board server.
click on device on the lest side menu or in the home page there will be some pre defined devices are there we can use it are we can create our own one.
For create new one click the PLUS button at the Right bottom of the page in the pop up click ADD NEW DEVICE
Give name to user device, Type - select default ,Label as per your wish Description give it related to your project then click ADD that's it new device will appear in the devices menu in my account smart garden new is the newly created device
click the newly appeared device icon
after new page will appear like this, click copy the access token this token will be added into your own arduino or python code to send the sensor data to server
Example:you need to put your device token into your arduino code
Note: this just a sample for where to paste the device token
if your hardware device send the details to the things-board server it will appears in the latest telemetry menu
conclusion:
Remember that this is a simple user creation and configuration tutorial in the future we will see in detail about how to send the real time sensor data to the Things-Board server and visualize it in the specified gauges.
