Wearing the Toq Watch and carrying their Android phone, a user walks across Sproul Plaza, and their Toq Watch vibrates and presents a notification stating to draw the text corresponding to a random individual personally involved in the 1963 Free Speech Movement (FSM). These individuals are: Mario Savio, Jack Weinberg, Joan Baez, Jackie Goldberg, Michael Rossman, and Art Goldberg.
After receiving this notification, the user then navigates to his or her application on the Toq smart watch, and clicks on the card corresponding to the individual chosen by the notification. Clicking on the card displays the individual's name, image, and an associated message attached to the individual. The click also triggers a drawing activity to appear on the user's smart phone automatically, and the user is prompted to draw something based on the message.
The user has the option to change the brush color to any RGB value, and also to change the width of the brush on the drawing canvas. These options can be accessed by clicking on the paint brush icon in the menu bar. Upon moving the sliders for any of these values, a preview of the brush color and width is updated and displayed in real time underneath the sliders. (Erasing can be performed by changing the color to white and adjusting the brush size as necessary.)
After the user is satisfied with his or her masterpiece of a drawing, the user will press the "Submit" button. This will upload the drawing to Flickr, with the tag "cs160fsm". It will also grab an arbitrary image from Flickr with the tag "cs160fsm" and push the image as another card ont the smart watch. So, classmates who have uploaded their photos to Flickr using this tag will be able to share their drawings with each other!
In addition, the latest of these Flickr images can be viewed by navigating to the following webpage, provided by the CS 160 staff: http://cs160fsm.herokuapp.com
(Note: Due to the lack of internet connectivity in Sproul Plaza, the video was filmed in two different locations.)
