We are developing an intelligent automated climate control system that simulates fan activation based on environmental data and human presence. The project uses the BlackBoard Wisdom from RobôCore, which comes integrated with temperature and humidity sensors, a potentiometer, and gesture sensors.
Instead of the STM32 used in earlier iterations, the BlackBoard Wisdom allows us to simulate room conditions more efficiently. Temperature and humidity are simulated using the onboard sensors and potentiometer, while the presence of people is simulated through gesture detection: a right-hand gesture represents people entering, and a left-hand gesture represents people leaving.
Fan activation also comes with the activation of an LED light. Additionally, the system is powered via a solar panel connected to a portable battery through one of the board’s external ports using a relay. The fan is connected to the second available external port, allowing for a fully integrated and autonomous prototype.
Our goal is to build a functional and efficient prototype that makes automated decisions and optimizes energy usage — a smart and sustainable solution designed for modern intelligent environments.
