Its estimated that 900,000 people (aka Snowbirds) from northern states and Canada travel to Florida to live during the winter and then go back during warmer months. These people need an inexpensive way to monitor the other house that they are not living in. They need to monitor temperature and humidity to ensure their heater or AC unit is working; sound to ensure there is no unexpected visitors.
Hometraq is a small IOT device that monitors temperature, humidity and sound. The device is setup with a mobile phone. Whenever the alarm gets triggered, it sends the user a text message via the Soracom SIM card. There are devices on the market that can do this by using a phone line or internet connection, but paying for these services for 6 months while you are gone is not cost effective.
I plan to launch a Kickstarter campaign later this year to market the device. See the video for more information: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_ZnIq1EGtxHlka42uliJLtaMTu-3Spy5
