After my sophomore year at Purdue, I started thinking of projects I could work on that would keep me busy. I was looking for something that would allow me to expand and apply my knowledge of electrical engineering (my major) to a project that I could be proud of. At the same time, I was considering buying a Boosted Board, as electric longboards on campus were quite popular. However, when I looked up the price of the top performing model (with a range of 14 miles and a top speed of 24 mph), the $1599 price tag discouraged me from clicking "order." It was there and then that I decided to build my own electric longboard that would rival the flagship Boosted Board not only in terms of specs but also price. The final result was a custom built electric longboard with a range of 15-18 miles and a top speed of 25+ mph.
