This SOS trigger Android app turns any MetaWear board into a automatic texting button. Your MetaWear device will send a pre-canned text message to any number when the push-button is activated on the board.
The code is fully open source so you are welcome to take it and make it your own.
The repository is available on Github here: https://github.com/mbientlab/SOSTrigger
The project is compiled in Eclipse with compiler compliance level of 1.7. It is targeted for SDK 19 and requires, at minimum, SDK 18. You will need to have the files for SDK 19 (Android 4.4.2) as well as an install of Java 7.
The App will prompt users to connect to a MetaWear board.
Once a MetaWear device has been paired, you can attach events to numbers and text messages. For example, send your friend an “I’m busy” text message when you shake your MetaWear.
Usage- Enter a contact name and select contact from the list of matches. Contacts can be removed by holding the names in the selected contacts list
- Configure what messages you want to send in the "Settings" menu
- Connect a MetaWear board to the app
- Send a text message to your contacts by either pressing the onboard button or shaking the board
The app will send texts even if it is in the background. To stop texts from being sent, either disconnect the MetaWear board or kill the app.
