The Solar Light Shade is a self-reliant automated solar powered window shade with LED RGBW color mixing light, with the capability of control from a cell phone via Wi-Fi / Bluetooth. The system could be connected to the house climate control system or whole house automation control, or controlled independently.
Photocell and battery sensors determine when to charge the batteries; the shade is opened or closed depending on whether the batteries require charging or not. LED lights will turn on when photocell senses the room is dark if the battery charge is sufficient. LED lights could also be activated via a motion detector.
Temperature sensors within the shade determine room temperatures; when the room temperature reaches designated limits, the shade will open (at low temperature) or close (at high temperature) to aid in energy and cost savings with heating and cooling systems.
Height sensors will allow the motorized shade to open or close to predesignated heights if the user prefers the shades partially open.
Sensors monitor battery voltage to ensure maximum life of batteries. These sensors also have the capability to send an alert if there is a fault with the batteries.
RGBW LED strips allow for maximum customization of light color at the preference of the user.
Flexible solar panels are built into the fabric of the shade.
Shades can be light filtering or room darkening types in various colors.
Shades come in standard window and door sizes, assembled for easy installation.
