It's the Mid-autumn festival! Are you going to see the full moon with your family and friends? It would be nicer if we all have a lantern on our hands, so we decided to make an elegant lantern with some simple material and an ESP32 Future board.
Other than the things listed above, we also need:
- Paper cup *5
- Glue *1
- Utility knife *1
- Scissors *1
- Pencil *1
- Tape measure *1
- String *1
- Straw or stick *1
We found a thorough tutorial on Youtube about how to make the shape of the flower lantern:
Step 2: Make the flower lanternThe first layer
1. Remove the part that is 4cm away from the base
2. Measure the diameter and divide them into 9 parts equally
3. Draw the petals
4. Cut along the lines we drew
5. Cut a straight line towards the base to separate each petal, but leave a 5mm gap
6. Open the petals
The second layer
1. Remove the part that is 5.5cm away from the base
2. Remove the base
3. The remaining steps are similar to the first layer. The cup should also be divided into 9 equal petals
The third layer
1. Remove the part that is 6.5cm away from the base
2. Remove the base
3. The remaining steps are similar to the first layer. The cup should also be divided into 9 equal petals
The fourth and fifth layer
1. Remove the top
2. Remove the base
3. Measure the diameter and divide the cup into 15 parts
Curl the petals
1. Use a pen to curl the petals inwards
Stick the fourth and the fifth layers together
1. Apply some glue to the cup
2. Glue the fourth and fifth layers together; the petals should be staggered so that it looks much beautiful
Stick the first, the second, and the third layers together
Put all three layers together in order; the petals should be staggered so that it looks much beautiful
Put all the petals together
Put the fourth and the fifth layer in the first, second, and third layer
1. Open Kittenblock, choose Future board as the hardware
2. Write the RGB program
There are three built-in RGB on Future board that are connected to P7, so the program should be:
3. Download the program
3. Result
1. Put the Future board in the lantern
2. And tie the string and the straw to it, done!
