Soil Moisture

In these two days, 15 and 16 October 2022, I participated in a workshop called "SIMPLE STEPS TO LEARN IOT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION!". It is a fun and exciting workshop. I learned how to use moist sensor, temperature and humidity sensor, gas sensor, Lora, and vision AI module. Moreover, it is exciting to use Wio terminal directly, which is a controller that can show the data provided from the sensor. Besides from the Wio terminal, the data can be seen from our own mobile phone by installing "SenseCap" from google play store and from computer or laptop by visiting https://sensecap.seeed.cc/ with our own account.

This little project was done at FAB-LAB Bali which is located in Jimbaran, Bali. I am curious of the relationship of soil moisture and the texture of soil. From my little experiment, it can be seen that there is a relationship between those two factors. The harder soil texture -- not soft, hard to mold -- has lower soil moisture, and vice versa. The softer soil texture shows 436-484 moisture texture intensity, meanwhile the harder soil texture shows bellow than 300 moisture texture intensity.

However, further research is still required as there will be inaccuracy.
