I initially started just by printing LoboCNC's iris goggles from Thingiverse, but thought independent, mechanized actuation would really spice things up.
How?Here's a link to my 3D files as remixed from LoboCNC's version https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3962384
The servo housings and linkages are the important additions, but there's also a box to house the electronics.
The Particle Photon is hooked up to a battery shield for mobile power and attached via headers to a piece of prototype board where all of the components are wired.
The code for the photon was written in and flashed over WiFi from the Particle Web IDE. The required libraries are clickButton, encoder and RGB controls.
Updated code can be found at: https://go.particle.io/shared_apps/5dbb16a378d739002130f837 or see the attached snapshot.
Wiring diagram and pinouts coming down the pipeline, but hopefully this is enough to get you started. :-)
