I created the Smart Water Bottle because I’ve always struggled to stay hydrated throughout the day. I often forget to drink water unless someone reminds me, and I wanted a practical solution to help me build better hydration habits. That’s where the idea for this project came from—a water bottle that doesn’t just sit there but actively tracks my water intake and reminds me to stay on track with my hydration goals.
This smart bottle is powered by a PocketBeagle and uses a water level sensor to monitor how much water has been consumed. LEDs provide visual feedback: a green LED lights up if I’m meeting my goals, while a red LED warns me if I’m falling behind. If I’m behind for consecutive intervals, a buzzer sounds off to grab my attention. I can also press a button on the bottle to manually check my progress anytime.
How does it work? The system divides the day into 30-minute intervals, calculating how much water I should have consumed to stay on track. The water level sensor measures changes in the water level, and the program updates my progress in real time. The visual and auditory feedback ensures that I never miss my hydration goals again—even if I get distracted.
