Welcome to Thermoswap! This simple but elegant temperature converter offers up to four different temperature scales for your converting convenience. Can't remember how to do Celsius to Fahrenheit? We've got your back! Wanna find out what today's temperature is in Delisle or Kelvin? Look no further! Read on to learn more about Thermoswap...
The below image is what you first see when you open the app. Pretty sparse, huh? We deliberately made this app minimalist and no-frills, so you could get the job done as quickly, painlessly, and effortlessly as possible.
All right, let's take you through the steps. Let's say you want to convert 100 °C to Fahrenheit...
First, tap the input field. You know, that rectangle with the helpful and inviting hint. The keyboard will slide up and you can type in the value you want to convert, in this case "100".
Alright, now we need to specify the temperature scale of the original value. Right next to where we just entered "100", we see four options for the temperature scale. Since we're converting from Celsius, go ahead and select the "°C".
Notice the second set of temperature scale options below the first one. This allows us to specify the temperature scale we'd like to convert to. We want the result to be in Fahrenheit, so tap the "°F" option. The result ("212") is automatically displayed in the gray rectangle.
Pretty cool, huh? But what if we want to see what 100 °C is in Kelvin instead of Fahrenheit? Easy, just change the bottom temperature scale to "K" and the result will update.
As it turns out, any change you make to existing options will automatically update the final result. If you change the original temperature to "-273.15", the result is updated to 0.
Note, however, that the converter won't work with missing information. For instance, deselect the °C option for the original temperature scale and nothing shows up for the final result.
You may be interested to know that there is such a thing as a minimum possible temperature. It's referred to as absolute zero, and its value is 0 K or -273.15 °C. Thermoswap won't accept temperatures below absolute zero.
Thermoswap also won't convert invalid inputs. For instance, typing "fifty five" won't cut it; only numbers, the negative sign, and the decimal point are allowed. But this is a temperature converter; why would you want to use any other symbol anyway?
That's it! Don't forget to watch the tutorial video below to see the app in action, and thanks for checking out Thermoswap!
