At the end of last year I had wanted to give a summary review of situations and a larger group of people should be allowed to speak in person. I took the opportunity to take a few notes and attach them to a magnetic wall for all visitors to the event.
In the run-up, I had to think about how to make the written feedback visible and easy to access for everyone: I decided to create a custom magnetic wall: you can attach the well-known Post-it notes, as well as with small magnets that hold a written note on the board.
Part 1I'll tell you how to make magnetic surfaces magnetic with magnetic paint and prepare them for use with magazines.
My choice fell on a discarded chipboard: this has approximately the size of 2 m wide x 0.5 m height. I cleaned it of dust and applied at least 3 layers of the magnetic paint.
I have done this evenly and in one direction, so that hardly any stripes are visible. The above-mentioned magnetic paint is an underground on which an additional color tone could have been applied at any time as desired. But enough for me to recognize the dark color as a background.
Before I had drilled two holes in the chipboard with the drilling machine, in order to be able to carry out here the suspension - a braided decoration cord in white - in each case with knots.
Note that on the other side of the drill hole there is often a tear out of the material, so you should start from the later surface of the drill.
The knots I have deserted with a lighter, so that no dissolution of the string is to be feared.
That's the reason: I did not even know that there is magnetic paint at all. The magnets last very well and even smaller magnets can be used.
- For collectors this gives the opportunity to have the bottle caps moved from the showcase to the wall,
- for students the opportunity to create a nicely decorated timetable.
- I had even considered briefly whether I would not paint my hall with it: I still have a lot of color over, but I had the bill without my wife hired.
2 smaller magnetboards were created with decorative lettering using white sputtering, which I sprayed on a prepared name stencil.
We are maker - let's buy the others.
