Today it's all about the Particle Internet Button - I have this in version 1.3.8 (T4915). He came as described on the docs.particle.io page in a tin with USB cable and transparent lid and a photon device.
What do you getI have tested the 9 examples of the Libary InternetButton
and here you my impressions available. This was currently 366,974 embedded in program code and is thus very popular.
You can either use the code from the Libary of the WebIDE or flash the examples directly from the website. The author "particle-iot" occasionally updates individual examples so that his github is also a good source.
What can the Particle Internet Button do?Example 1 is similar to a "Hello World" example: "Blink an LED"
Example 2: "Blink ALL the LED"
Example 3: "Buttons and LED"
Example 4: "Good Combination"
Example 5: "Motion" - its my favorite - Color change using the integrated accelerometer
Exampe 6: "Orientation" - Orientation detection using the integrated accelerometer
Example 7: "Internet"
If you have renamed your photon in "InternetButton", then a control via an HTML page via browser is possible. In my case, this did not work: I was able to log into my account, but a response was missing. Hope you make other experiences: the download of the website can be found here: https://github.com/particle-iot/InternetButton/blob/master/controlKnob.html
Change the following code:
wrong - comment this in the hmlt-file out:
<!-- <script src="http://anthonyterrien.com/js/jquery.knob.js"></script> -->
correct - put this in:
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jQuery-Knob/1.2.13/jquery.knob.min.js"></script>

The idea of this example is to control the number of LEDs via the browser. This worked in my case only after a few attempts; in part it may be because the photon dissolves slightly from the PCB board.

Example 8: "Making Music"
By pressing one of the buttons a short melody was played over the integrated buzzer.

I tried the typical Neopixel example on D6 with an Arduino Uno: so if you don't have a photon at hand, you can use your alternative devices with the Internet button.
For this purpose leads D6 from the Arduino to the 4th PIN above the "L" from the label "LED" to the right of number 1 = 4th PIN position.
I have not tried the other examples with the buttons.
The Adafruit Particle Neopixel 24 Ring can also be controlled with an Arduino. Select the connection here directly from the usual D6 of the Arduino to the PCB board D6 as well as GND <> GND and 5V <> VIN.
