I want to play with the large controllers you can play at the Nintendo Museum easily anywhere. That's why I started making this controller ( size: 63cm x 28cm ).
Controllers made from felt are soft and gentle.
You'll definitely become addicted to its warm feel.
OverviewThis controller is recognized as a Nintendo Switch controller!
The Switch versions of "Famicom" and "Nintendo World Championships" have a special feature:
In these games, you can reset the game by pressing the Start and Select buttons simultaneously.
Input detection is performed using a pressure sensor placed under the felt. The CoreS3 receives pressure sensor input and acts as a controller for the Switch.
It functions as a controller for the Nintendo Switch and also features three screens for situational awareness and settings.
- NINTENDO SWITCH controllerThe eight buttons used on the Famicom are perfectly replicated, providing high frame rates and fast response.
- Monitor screenDisplays the status of the pressure sensor and the linked button.
- Settings screenYou can set the reset behavior and button recognition method.
- Adjustment screenYou can set the recognition parameters for each button.
Although it is simple, I will explain the situation when creating it with photos.
Create a pattern and cut the felt.I took a photo of the Famicom controller I normally use and created a blueprint using Fusion360.
The buttons are stacked in five layers.
Temporarily position all parts
Uses a pressure sensor to recognize buttons
Using MCP3208 to obtain 8-channel analog inputAttach the printed circuit board to the 3D printed case.
Fix the wiring to the felt on the bottom with special tape.
The m5stack has a dedicated housing and can be adjusted to an angle for easy viewing.
Just connect it to your Nintendo Switch and you're done! All you have to do is play with all your might.
During the creation process, we had children and adults play with it.
It was set to turn on when the pressure exceeded a certain level and turn off when it dropped below that level, but we found this to be unsuitable for gaming.
It seems to be difficult to play because of poor response.
Unfortunately, the controls are still difficult for those unfamiliar with the game.
We are currently exploring optimal adjustments to ensure that everyone can enjoy the game.
