Check out my Derive app! From the home page, the user is greeted with choosing a category to begin an adventure or choosing to be curious, and see what happens next!
The images above display some design elements that came from my exploration of Bohemian Coding's Sketch 3 mac application, which is awesome for wire framing and mocking up not only mobile applications, but also web apps and more.
I've also had experience with an application called Macaw, which is better suited for development as it generates HTML and CSS, but has very similar drawing/building elements like Sketch. Both wonderful tools that are slightly different for the different circumstances.
Shown above are some screen shots from the smartwatch side of the application, which is primarily used for navigation.
I decided to go with very simple turn by turn navigation choices that automatically update based on the user's location. A feature that I is crucial for this portion is the ability to touch the screen to scroll through three different turn signaling patterns: 1) time, 2) distance, and 3) number of blocks before turn. This is crucial because the user knows exactly when to turn. Shown also is a notification for a vista point, in case the user really needs some guidance.
I really enjoyed this project as it allowed me to learn how to use Sketch 3, which I highly reccomend for mocking up anything, as well as framerjs. Much of framerjs's capabilities can be seen in the above video. The code consisted of simple animations to slide layers out of view and back in, or toggling on and off other layers, to indicate choice, etc.
Choosing colors and typography and setting the overall tone for the app was also very enjoyable. Thanks ya'll!
