A high-accuracy, isolated and PoE-powered three-phase energy monitoring system, designed for integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) in office, commercial, and industrial environments.
π Overview:This PCB is a 3-phase 4-wire (3P4W) electrical monitoring module designed to be installed at the main power entry of an office or small facility. It measures all critical electrical parameters in real time and transmits them via Ethernet to an external BMS, which handles control and decision-making.
π― Problem This Project SolvesMost commercial power meters are:

- Connect to Ethernet and pair with the BMS.
- Firmware reads and transmits all electrical parameters.
This project demonstrates how a carefully engineered architecture combining isolated measurement, industrial-grade protection, and PoE-powered connectivity, can deliver a professional three-phase energy monitoring system suitable for real-world electrical installations.
Every block of the design, from the ATM90E32AS metering engine to the Ethernet PHY terminations, the isolation strategy, and the high-voltage front-end, was chosen to balance accuracy, safety, EMI robustness, and long-term reliability.
The result is an open-hardware, BMS-ready platform capable of providing high-resolution electrical analytics for office buildings, commercial spaces, and energy-aware automation systems.
It offers the integration flexibility lacking in commercial meters, while maintaining the protection, measurement quality, and stability expected in industrial environments.
If youβre interested in using this design or collaborating on a customized version for your own application, Iβd be excited to work with you.
