This project demonstrates how to build an STM32-based Smart Home Control System that monitors environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure, light intensity, and hazardous gases (smoke, carbon monoxide, air quality), provides buzzer alarms, and controls appliances like lights and curtains automatically or manually via a mobile app.
Bill of Materials (BOM)- STM32F103C8T6 Minimal System Board (Blue Pill) x 1- 4-pin OLED Display x 1- MQ-2 Smoke Sensor x 1- MQ-7 Carbon Monoxide Sensor x 1- MQ-135 Air Quality Sensor x 1- DHT11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor x 1- ESP8266 Wi-Fi Module x 1- Stepper Motor (Curtain Control) x 1- BMP280 Pressure Sensor x 1- Buzzer x 1- Photoresistor (Light Sensor) x 1- Connecting Wires & Breadboard / Custom PCB
Step-by-Step Implementation & Screenshot GuideStep 1: Hardware Components IntroductionIntroduce the main board, sensors, OLED display, and peripheral components.
Step 2: Power-Up & Initial Display CheckPower on the system and observe the OLED screen showing initial environment info (temperature, humidity, pressure, light, and air quality).
Step 3: Button Operations & Threshold ConfigurationDemonstrate how to use the onboard buttons to switch modes (Auto/Manual) and configure presets for temperature, humidity, and gas sensors.
Step 4: Environmental Monitoring Test (Temp, Humidity, Light) Test temperature/humidity changes by hand warmth and test light intensity changes using a cover or flashlight, triggering automated motor/light reactions.
Step 5: Hazardous Gas Alarm & Safety Test Use a lighter to test MQ-2 smoke and MQ-7 CO sensors, showing threshold triggers, flashing lights, and buzzer alarms.
Step 6: Mobile App Configuration & Network Pairing Set up the smartphone app (Jizun app) with a Wi-Fi hotspot connection and complete network pairing with the ESP8266 module.
Step 7: Mobile App Manual Control Demo Switch to manual mode on the mobile app to remotely control household LEDs and curtain stepper motors.
