This app is based on the Free Speech Movement that took place in Berkeley 50 years ago in 1964. A person walking through Sproul Plaza gets a notification on their watch saying to open up the FSM app and click on a specific card. Upon clicking on the card, the FSM app on the smart phone opens up with a drawing pad. The person proceeds to draw whatever was part of the instructions on the watch and he/she then uploads the image to Flickr. Upon doing so, they also receive a card with a photo drawn by one of their fellow classmates.
First is the cards on the watch. They are all pretty simple and easy to understand. When you first open the app, you see a deck of cards with 7 cards. Once you click on a card, it triggers an event on your phone and opens up a drawing pad on the FSM app.
The drawing pad has lots of little goodies. It comes in 12 different colors along with 3 different sizes of pen and eraser. If you decide that you didn't like what you did, you can start all over and simply click the new page icon. After creating your masterpiece, you can save it to your phone's photo gallery so that it won't be lost. Before you upload a photo to Flickr, you actually have the option to choose from your gallery. If you decide that you didn't like your drawing, you can upload something else. Finally, you click on the Flickr button to upload to Flickr with the cs160fsm tag. You also receive a goodie on your watch because you get to view a masterpiece made by someone else in the class.
