Currently I'm slowly renovating my flat alone. I just wonder how useful and comfortable it would be to have someone helping in taking notes about wall sizes and electrical conduits or pipes in walls in order to know where to drill or remove part of the walls without risking a flood or an electrical shock.
Pairing a Walabot with a laser distance measure and dictating the results to Alexa will be like working with a full builders team!
Imagine discovering the pipe in the wall with Walabot, measuring the distances from the corner and just telling Alexa to take a note. At the end of the day, all the measures are there ready to put on a paper, without removing your safety gloves, looking for the pencil that always get lost in the tools, fiddling with the measure tape and finding an available piece of paper!
As a proof of concept, there is no need for electronics development. Just stick the Walabot on a laser meter and keep Alexa close. In a second stage, the Walabot board can be integrated with a laser meter circuit and enclosed in one container possibly 3D printed.
It is an easy and fast project to realize that can become a huge time-saving tool for builders.
