The inspiration behind this project was my freezing bedroom. I wake up early every morning and dread getting up to a cold room. With this alarm clock that is no longer a problem, using a Particle Photon 2 an Adafruit BME, a Real Time Clock and a Adafruit OLED, I can now ensure that my room is a toasty 72 degrees when I get out of bed, and my lights slowly brighten over a few minutes. Not only that, but I can make sure that a fan is turned on before bedtime so that my bed is nice and cool when I get in it. The alarm is automatically set up to Wake at 7am and Sleep at 10pm, however if the user desires, they can also press the large Mode button to change the device to manual mode and use the keypad to set the desired Wake and Sleep time.
